Chelsea travel to Brighton as they as Premier League crown slips further out of reach

Chelsea travel to Brighton with their final hopes of keeping the Premier League title race alive, after they fell to Premier League leaders Manchester City 1-0 at the Etihad stadium.

While Chelsea have had a relatively great run in both their EFL Cup and FA Cup ties, including a 5-1 demolition of Chesterfield, the Blues have had a less than stellar record in the Premier League. Winning only once in their last 5 Premier League games, Chelsea has drawn against Liverpool, Wolves, Everton, and even Brighton, while also losing to Manchester City.

As for Brighton, they have done surprisingly well this season, sitting at 8th place on the Premier League table, and also have had a better record than Chelsea in their last 5 games, winning 2 games, drawing 2, and losing only once.

On Brighton’s side, injuries are relatively few, with only Tudor Baluta, Lewis Dunk, and Enock Mwepu missing through injuries, as well as Yves Bissouma who is away with his national team for the AFCON Cup.

Chelsea, on the other hand, will have more to worry about, as defenders Andreas Christensen, Ben Chilwell, Reece James, and Trevoh Chalobah are all missing through injuries and infection. Goalkeeper Edouard Mendy is also away on international duty.

While Chelsea has had a rough patch of late, we fully expect them to make a comeback from the defeat to Manchester City, and keep the Premier League title race alive and exciting.

We predict a 2-0 win for Chelsea away from home, and there will be 2 or more goals scored in this game.
