Barcelona found a perfect way to bounce back from an unpleasant 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid in El Clasico. They produced one of the best performances of the season to destroy Athletic Bilbao 4-0 in the Copa del Rey final on Saturday evening.

It was the team’s inaugural trophy since 2018/19 when they won La Liga. Lionel Messi was the main catalyst for the superb second-half display in the cup final.

The Argentinean star will also lead the line on Thursday evening when Blaugrana will be looking to overtake Real Madrid at the second position of the league standings with a victory over Getafe.

PREDICTION

Getafe have not secured the top flight survival yet. They are currently just four points above the danger area. They rely heavily on defence, boasting the joint-worst attacking record in the entire division with just 22 goals scored in 31 games.

The team play ultra-defensive football under Jose Bordalas. None of the last five games they played saw three or more goals scored. Three of them ended in goal less draws, including the weekend’s clash with Real Madrid at Coliseum Alfonso Perez.

Azunoles scored only one goal in the last five La Liga matches. We are thus very tempted to back Barcelona to win to nil as the main betting option at the odds of 1.90.
