Leipzig seem to have almost confirmed their top-two finish, and thus an entry into the Champions League. However, the in-form Dortmund are placed fifth and are desperately after a top-four spot. Likely, Der BVB have the edge this weekend at their home.

As of now, Dortmund are trailing one point below the fourth-placed Frankfurt, and have three fixtures remaining to overcome this deficit.

They have been in terrifying form lately, and are scoring goals at an unbelievable rate. The team had dipped in form at the start of the second half of the campaign, and as such fell out of the race for a top-four spot.

At present they are trying to make up for it.  Meanwhile, the Red Bulls have a lead of nine points over the fifth spot, and with just three game weeks to be completed, they need one more point to confirm their participation in the next edition of the CL.

Thus, Julian Nagelsmann’s men might not have enough motivation to go after the win this weekend.

Still, they do have a mathematical possibility of winning the league, and for the reason, the Bulls might give it a try. Likely, we can expect goals to come from either side of the pitch.

PREDICTION

Dortmund recorded a 0-2 win on the road the last match-day, against Wolfsburg. In the meantime, Nagelsmann’s men registered a 2-0 win against Stuttgart.

Going on, Der BVB are on a five-game winning run, and had scored a total of 13 goals in the process. Note that they were also unbeaten in 11 of their former 13 appearances at home.

On the other hand, their counterparts were winless in six of their past nine overall fixtures, and they have a total of two wins on the road since the first week of March – both of which had come against bottom-tier squads.

Thus, expect the determined Dortmund to emerge victorious this Friday.

However, Leipzig still have been the best team in Germany after Bayern this season, and their offense will surely make some issues for the hosts.

As such, expect goals from both teams this weekend.

Over 3 goals would be predicted.
