Elche can expect a move to the second-tier next season with their current position on the table. The host is near to the bottom of the table but is also close to making it out, given they can yield all points from the remaining games.

They have carried on their winless streak to the seventh game in a row, including a 1-1 draw at home with Valladolid in the last league clash. Surprisingly, their decent form at home keeps their hopes alive for a ticket out of the bottom three in the league this term.

Levante struggling at the mid-table spot has nothing to play for in the campaign other than pride. The away team is safely away from the relegation zone and nowhere near the top six on the table. They have lost four of their last five matches in La Liga.

With back-to-back losses in their league schedule, their morale will be in doubt for the trip on the road on Saturday. They will visit after a double loss in their form, following a 0-1 loss at home against Sevilla in the previous encounter.

PREDICTION

Elche come into this on the back of a 1-1 draw at home to fellow relegation battlers Real Valladolid in midweek. A late Valladolid equaliser leaves the home team in a perilous position after back-to-back two-goal defeats against Huesca and Osasuna prior to that. Their opponents, Levante, were defeated 1-0 by title challenging Sevilla in another game in which their final 20 minutes were suggestive of a side that don’t have much to play for – and they don’t, in all fairness. Given that, the home team will be hoping to take advantage and give their fight against relegation a boost.
