Liverpool have the chance to seal a Champions League place for next season if they beat Crystal Palace in the final game of the season.

Liverpool will be the odds on favourites to win this match and it will feel emotional for the club as some fans will be let into the stadium. The club have had a difficult season but are on great form now and have climbed up to 4th place surpassing Leicester.

The Reds beat Burnley 3-0 in their last game and their slump is officially over as they have won 4 games in a row. At home Liverpool have gone 3 games unbeaten and their last result here ended in a 2-0 victory over Southampton.

Crystal Palace are down in 13th place and the best finish they could hope for would only be 12th if they win this game and Wolves lose. Form for Palace is not good though with 3 defeats from their last five games.

This will be an emotional game for Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson because after 45 years in football he will be retiring so this is his last match in football.

In midweek Palace lost 3-1 at home to Arsenal and their last away game ended in a 3-1 loss at Southampton, the club have been defeated 9 times on the road so far.

PREDICTION

This is one of those games where Liverpool only do not win because they have put in a lacklustre performance, and of course we have seen many examples of that from the Reds this season.

However Liverpool are in fantastic form now and they have a superb record over Crystal Palace and we expect them to win this game with ease. The Eagles will want to do well for their manager as it is his last game but quality should tell and as long as Liverpool play the way they have been doing for the past month we do not expect to see any surprises.
