Race 1: Yung Shue O Handicap

#10 One Step Ahead is closing in on a first win. He’s steadily improved with every run and once again he gets his chance to breakthrough, especially in the bottom grade. #8 Great Harvest is racing well as a winner three starts ago. He draws well and gets his opportunity. #12 Blazing Partners slots in light. He’s consistent and warrants respect. #4 Winwin Thirtythree is a winner already this term. The booking of Joao Moreira bears close watching.

Race 2: Wong Ma Tei Handicap

#5 Donc Je Suis narrowly missed last-start after putting in a fast-closing effort over 1800m. He gets out to 2000m here which suits and the booking of Zac Purton warrants respect. #4 Play Wise is racing consistently this season. He’s gone close all season having notched four consecutive runner-up efforts. Still, he’s proving that it is only a matter of time before he wins again. #2 Ezra mixes his form but on his day he has a bit of class about him. #9 Perfect To Play looks ready to relish the added ground. He gets his chance.

Race 3: Lai Chi Chong Handicap

#5 Winner Method is looking to remain unbeaten with his third consecutive win. He’s on the up and this contest is his for the taking. #2 Metro Warrior gets a handy seven-pound claim from apprentice Jerry Chau. He can be competitive here as a course and distance winner already this season. #6 Flying High steps out on debut. He looks forward enough to be competitive in his first outing. #3 Brilliant Fortune ran a cracker on debut to snatch second. He’s open to further improvement.

Race 4: Wong Chuk Wan Handicap (1st Section)

#1 Speed Fay Fay is racing well and he gets his chance to go back-to-back here. He draws well and should get every opportunity racing close to the pace under Chad Schofield. #6 Copartner Ambition draws well and rates strongly to go one better. He has a nice future in Hong Kong off the back of his narrow defeat last time out on debut. #3 Cheerful Days can’t draw a good gate. This is costing him dearly but nevertheless, he has a stack of ability and it wouldn’t surprise to see him go on with it under Joao Moreira. #5 Super Ten will roll forward and get every chance.

Race 5: Sham Chung Handicap

#4 Beauty Fit steps out on debut. He’s a high-profile Australian import who arrives unbeaten and off the back of his latest trial effort, looks set to make an immediate impact. #3 Uncle Steve is racing well. He’s relishing this grade and is capable of making an impact from gate two with Karis Teetan engaged. #6 Let’s Do it is on the up and is showing a great deal of improvement. He draws well and is worth keeping safe. #13 Golden Link slots in light and he should get his opportunity.

Race 6: Tai Mong Tsai Handicap

#4 Dragon Fortune was an impressive winner last start who looks to have loads of ability. He draws well and gets his chance to notch back-to-back wins. #3 Pegasus Glory is racing well but does draw poorly. Still, he was a winner earlier this term and if he manages to recapture that form here, then he is a leading player. #1 Diamond Brilliant gets the services of Zac Purton. He’ll roll forward and get every chance close to the speed. #2 Family Folks is lightly raced but does have ability. He’s a player in his spot.

Race 7: Wong Chuk Wan Handicap (2nd Section)

#10 Mission Smart has returned in excellent order this campaign, twice narrowly missing by under a length. Joao Moreira hops up now and he shapes as the one to beat. #11 City Legend finally got off the mark last time out at his 32nd try in Hong Kong. He’s worth keeping safe, especially now that he knows how to get his nose in front. #2 Zone D won stylishly last start. He’s capable in his spot and comes from the right yard. #9 Green Envy draws well and is consistent in his spot.

Race 8: Shui Long Wo Handicap

#6 Serious Liaison won well last start and he looks capable of going back-to-back here. He closed impressively last time and if he manages to replicate that run here then he is the one to beat. #7 Authentic Champ is racing well. He’s nothing short of consistent and if he can offset the wide gate then he’s in with an opportunity. #10 Looking Great is on the up. The booking of Joao Moreira warrants respect. #8 Angel Of My Eyes is next best.

Race 9: Pak Sha O Handicap

#1 All In Mind makes a welcome step back to Class 3. He’s a winner in this grade previously and the booking of Zac Purton warrants respect. He’ll take catching, he only needs to offset the big weight and wide gate. #5 Chancheng Prince is looking for back-to-back wins. He gets his chance. #9 Loyal Baby is open to further improvement off the back of a solid seventh last start, beaten only two lengths. #13 President’s Choice is next best with no weight to carry.

Race 10: Hoi Ha Handicap

#5 Seattle Choice has a stack of ability and returns first-up this weekend off the back of two consecutive wins last term. He’s trialled well in the lead-up to his return and with even luck he shapes as the one they all have to beat. #3 Lucky Patch steps back in trip. He’s a talented youngster who can make his presence felt. #2 California Rad is nothing short of consistent. He knows how to win as a three-time winner already this season. #4 Ping Hai Bravo does his best racing down the straight but will now go around a bend. Suspect he can still finish inside the money.
