Race 1: Tsz Wan Shan Handicap

#5 Amazing Agility has been racing consistently all campaign. He draws well again over a suitable distance which could see him prove difficult to catch. #8 Apolar Warrior is closing in on a first Hong Kong win. He’s showing steady improvement, enough so to suggest that a win is nearing. #1 Lucky Missile makes a welcome step down to Class 5. He bears close watching. #14 The Joy Of Giving slots in light and commands respect.

Race 2: Tate’s Cairn Handicap (1st Section)

#11 Sam’s Love was unlucky in the straight last start and he arguably would have finished much closer had he received clear running room. Zac Purton sticks aboard here and he looks well placed to atone for that performance. #12 Light Of Wanshi is still in the learning phase but does appear to be getting the hang of things quite quickly. #1 Smart Folks makes a welcome return to the grass. He draws well and is capable of figuring. #5 Sprint Forward mixes his form but does have the class when required.

Race 3: G3 Lion Rock Trophy Handicap

Joao Moreira has won three out of the five editions of this race since it’s inception in 2016 and this weekend he links with the Derby winner, #6 Sky Darci. He steps back to the mile which suits and off a low weight and a sharp trial effort recently, he does shape as the one to beat. #5 Healthy Happy is another who slots in light. He ran fairly well at G1 level last start and is favoured by the drop in grade. #2 More Than This ran Golden Sixty to within a head last start. Suspect he can improve further, although he is at a disadvantage with the weight spread. #1 Ka Ying Star will roll forward and give them something to run down.

Race 4: Tate’s Cairn Handicap (2nd Section)

#12 Golden Four is better than his record suggests and with even luck he is more than capable of putting his best foot forward here. He owns a slick personal best over this course and distance which could well see him overhaul the likely favourite, #3 Seasons Bliss, who did run a cracker for second last time out. Suspect he can take another step forward here and find himself in the finish. He’s a serious talent who is open to plenty of improvement. #7 Legend Goes is on the steady improve and he looks favoured with a better draw this time in. #2 Armor Star has struggled of late but is another who is much, much better than his record suggests.

Race 5: Sha Tin Heights Handicap

#1 Excellent Chariot makes a welcome step back into Class 4 where is a two-time winner from his most recent two runs in the grade. He’s been competitive in Class 3 and this contest looks extremely suitable. #3 Whiskey Neat has been consistent without winning all term. Chances are he rolls forward and looks the winner at some stage. #12 Smart Wongchoy has the runs on the board. It wouldn’t surprise to see him go close once again as long as he can offset the awkward gate. #8 Tronic Mighty has ability and looks set to improve with experience.

Race 6: Piper’s Hill Handicap

#11 Natural Storm is racing well and with a light weight he commands respect getting out to this distance. He’s shown that he handles the trip and with the right run he could well pinch this contest. #4 California Ten is looking to snap a run of consecutive second-placed efforts. Joao Moreira hops up now and he looks like a leading player. #12 Pakistan Friend can roll forward and play catch me if you can. He’s a bolters chance at odds who is worth supporting on an each way basis. #1 Celestial Power steps up in trip. He bears close watching here but the wide gate does harm his chances, for sure.

Race 7: Eagle’s Nest Handicap (2nd Section)

#10 Biz Power does plenty wrong but he does possess a powerful turn of foot on his day. He’s closing in on a first Hong Kong win and with clear running room he is capable of getting it here. #6 War Of Courage is looking for back-to-back wins. He should be able to make his presence felt once again. #8 Decisive Twelve is also looking for back-to-back wins. He has a bit of class about him, especially as a winner already in this grade. #9 Speedy Mouse is on the up. He’s worth including here.

Race 8: Hung Mui Kuk Handicap

#3 Heza Beauty is a super consistent and rates strongly as a two-time winner already this campaign. He draws well and gets his chance to turn his form around with a welcome step back up to 1400m. #1 Sunset Watch is competitive in his spot and did the share the victory two starts ago on the dirt. He’s racing well and is no stranger to relative success on the turf. #4 Lucky Fun is racing well as a three-time winner through this campaign. Suspect he can continue his progression here. #8 Star Performance doesn’t win out of turn but is racing with plenty of merit. He should be close.

Race 9: Eagle’s Nest Handicap (1st Section)

#14 Soaring Tower has ability on his day he’s just struggling to piece it all together. He slots in light here and with a clean run home he is more than capable of steaming over the top of this group, just as he did on debut. #3 Mighty Valor is the likely leader. He’s worth including at the top because on his day he can prove awfully hard to catch. #1 Regency Bo Bo is looking for a hat-trick of wins. He remains in Class 3 which suits. #13 Aurora Pegasus mixes his form but gets his chance with no weight on his back.

Race 10: Amah Rock Handicap

#8 Trillion Win closed off gamely last start before narrowly missing. He gets conditions to suit once again albeit against a tough bunch of opposition. #13 Sight Success won three on the bounce before finishing a distant seventh last time out. He can return to winning ways here off the back off the back of a tidy trial effort recently. #1 Lucky Patch is racing well but is disadvantaged by the hefty impost. #14 When You Believe is on the improve and commands respect.
