Red Devils set to return to action, more misery for Newcastle?

It hasn’t been a smooth December for the Red Devils. After playing their last game against Norwich City on 12th December, which ended in a 1-0 win, all their matches have been postponed due to the COVID–19 cases that have affected both squad members and staff as well.

After the Premier League break on the 22nd of December, the Red Devils will be aching for some action on the pitch as they are scheduled to travel to Newcastle on the 28th of December. United will be hungry for 3 points to mark their return to Premier League football amidst transfer rumours regarding Dortmund prodigy Erling Haaland.

As for Newcastle, they are holding on for dear life in the Prem, and every point counts. They find themselves nearly at the bottom of the pile after slipping down a spot to 19th place, following a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of league leaders Manchester City. With only a solitary win in their last 5 games, and currently being in a 3 loss streak, form does not seem to favour the Magpies in this clash at St. James Park.

Can Ronaldo & co. pick up where they left off, adding a 4th win to their current 3 game winning streak as they pile on the misery for Newcastle, or will Newcastle defy all odds to clinch the game? Most likely, come Thursday, a United win by a 2 goal margin is the most likely outcome.
